Introducing The Tesla Supercharger Network

As part of our commitment to driving the future forward, GM is in the process of integrating the North American Charging Standard (NACS) and is introducing NACS DC Adapters for GM EVs with a CCS inlet. This will give GM EV customers access to 17,800+ Tesla Superchargers, making it easier than ever for EV drivers to put their charging worries aside.

A NACS DC Adapter allows for an EV with a CCS inlet to plug into any NACS DC fast charger, including the Tesla Supercharger Network. All current GM EV owners have a CCS inlet, requiring a GM-approved NACS DC Adapter to charge on the Tesla Supercharger Network.

Customers can purchase the NACS DC Adapter, locate Tesla Superchargers and pay for charging, all in the Vehicle Mobile App. *The integrated mobile experience has everything customers need to charge.

How to Set up the Vehicle Mobile App and Order a NACS DC Adapter

The customer can order the NACS DC Adapter by going to the Public Charging page in the Vehicle Mobile App. *Simply select “Activate” for the Tesla Supercharger, and then follow the prompts to enable Tesla Supercharger access. Tesla Supercharger access allows customers to only pay for the energy they use with no additional commitment.

Once they add a payment method, they’ll have the opportunity to order a NACS DC Adapter for $225, via the accessories e-commerce experience, and select their preferred dealer to order. Customers can conveniently ship their NACS DC Adapter directly to their home or choose to pick up from their preferred dealer location. Customers can also use or earn My GM Rewards points with the purchase of a NACS DC Adapter.

NACS DC Adapters will only be sold through the Vehicle Mobile App* at launch.

GM strongly advises that customers use a GM NACS DC Adapter for charging on any NACS public charger, including the Tesla Supercharger Network, which have been specifically designed to protect GM EV batteries while charging. Damage to vehicle components resulting from the installation or use of non-GM approved parts is not covered under the terms of the vehicle warranty and may affect remaining warranty coverage for affected parts.

Why must a payment method be saved to order a NACS DC Adapter?

The Tesla Supercharger Network requires a mobile app to access and initiate a charging session because there are no payment functions on the charger. It is important for a customer to understand the requirement of saving a payment method within the app in order to access and charge on the Tesla Supercharger Network. Once they have created an account, they can order a NACS DC Adapter.
